Luscious Demeter dotes on her daughter, the untried but true Persephone. Demeter instructs her precious flower in the family business - Fertility, Fecundity and Fruitfulness - while keeping her favorite creation close and safe. Persephone, however, is desperate to leave the nest. To demonstrate her budding independence, Persephone runs away and takes up with her mother's nemesis, the Lord of the Underworld. Naturally, Demeter tries to get her baby back from the dark side, but finds no help. As Persephone gestates in the belly of the Underworld, Demeter’s self-imposed death march threatens the survival of humankind and sparks a war amongst the Immortals. (This is a super sexy neo-feminist update of the ancient Greek myth – no classical education required.)
